A Spoonful of Foliage

For this month's Foliage Follow-Up, I wanted to show you some 'Bengal Tiger' Cannas I transplanted a few weeks ago.

Don't they look like spoons?!

A spoonful of foliage helps to fill a garden space
fill a garden space
fill a garden space
Just a spoonful of foliage helps to fill a garden space
In a most delightful way

(I think Mary Poppins would approve, don't you?)

Happy Foliage Follow-Up!

  1. They do look like spoons. Maybe I should buy spoons & paint 'em like foliage! Then I wouldn't have to water as much.

  3. Ha, they do look like stripey spoons! All you need are some forks and knives.

  4. Toni, you're right, they do look like spoons; very pretty stripey spoons. I bet they won't look like spoons for very much longer though, they're going to grow into huge, beautiful, impressive foliage statements to grace your spectacular gardens.

  5. I too am a tiger admirer. Those stripy leaves look good in moderation. I seen these canna in Canada in previous years en mass and it looks like a circus. Your three 'spoons' will look nice in the small group.

  6. Cute post! Cannas are amazing--we even grow them up here as annuals or dig up the bulbs to go dormant over the winter. But they love our hot summers. Amazing plants!

  10. Very cute & funny! The Benegal are my favorite! I had them for 3 years and multiplied great, but then were too damp a few winters ago and havent replaced them yet. The foliage is so striking!!

  11. You're so clever! They do look like spoons.

I'm not positive if you guys got any rain the other day but I don't think so...we missed out on the following day. But extremely grateful for what we got! Don't you love the joy in that photo?!

  12. Toni - those are so cute (I love Cannas, need to add them as annuals next year); I'm playing catch up - and between you and Cat, I've discovered your friend Pam' "Digging" blog. You Texas gardeners sure have it going on!! :) [Her cinderblock planter blew me away - awesome; and the succulents you guys grow remind me I need to add them to my list. Just saying "Portulaca" makes me happy!]
