First Friday Creature Feature,
I haven't actually seen any creatures, but...
It looks like someone's been creepin' 'round my back stairs
A possum maybe?
We have one living under our deck.
And she's not alone...
Someone's been hoppin' down the bunny trail.
There's a party goin' on down there!
Speaking of bunnies, hop on over (groan) to Along Life's Highway for my submission in the Yard Art Game -- there's bunnies everywhere! I want it to be known that I only submitted the first picture. The rest of the pictures are not for the faint of heart -- you have been warned!
And then I found this strange looking butterfly track.
Obviously my husband is going stir crazy being cooped up in the house for four days, so he's resorted to making garden insects in the snow!
I was actually quite impressed :-)
I hope spring is makin' tracks to get here. I'm about to have my fill of snow, although it does make for some pretty pictures!
I'll share some in the coming days.
Stay tuned...
Toni :-)
Toni :-)
Your husband is very creative...I like the butterfly track! Good luck in the Yard Art Game!
ReplyDeleteYour husband is quite a sweetie to make that for you. I got a big smile from it.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed as well Toni! I'm feeling for you with the snow...I'm getting very depressed with all the cold and snow we've been suffering too. It just aint right!
ReplyDeleteHaving lived in the snowy north most of my life I'm very used to all the tracks in the snow...it's amazing just how much life is out there that you wouldn't know about if it wasn't for the tracks in the snow!
hahaha yes that was a "trip" visiting Life's Highway!! hahaha!
I hope your gardens were able to withstand this assault of cold air... I assume this is quite unusual for your area temperature wise? Larry
ReplyDeleteThat butterfly would make a good header for SIGNature gardens.
ReplyDeleteGreat tracking in the snow photos. That is one big butterfly!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that IS one big butterfly! Congratulations on your submission to the Yard Art Game, it was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteYour husband is so sweet, trying to entertain you. Maybe he was feeling jealous of the possum. The butterfly track is very nice!
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone! Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. If you knew my husband, who strongly dislikes all things garden (except looking at ours) and absolutely hates snow (he's a native Texan), you would be even more impressed by his little garden creation in the snow! If you will notice the proximity of the butterfly to the edge of the deck, he didn't venture out too far; but yes, what a sweet thing to do :-) The snow is melting today so the butterfly has already "flown" away.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you "captured" the butterfly before it flew away! What fun! I can relate to the plentiful bunnies.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very clever butterfly. I have critters in my yard too that I don't see. I know they are squirrels and rabbits. I hope they are finding enough to eat without resorting to my plants.
ReplyDeleteI am looking to see whether bloggers zones are north or south of mine, and when I saw your snow, I was surprised to be reminded you are in Texas. I enjoyed all the tracks, even the butterfly. ;o)
ReplyDeleteWe have an opossum that lives under our deck, too. I have some photos of muddy paw prints that I haven't posted yet.
Oho, we had a visit from a possum too...it wouldn't budge. My husband was chucking snowballs at it and it still didn't move an inch!
ReplyDeleteAnd what an adorable butterfly track! Glad you got a picture of it. :)
